Free Counseling Services

A trained mental health professional is available by appointment to assist community members who have previously or are currently experiencing trauma, gender dysphoria, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or surviving being the victim of a crime, as well as other experiences that may have an impact on mental health.  We also offer services related to substance use disorders.  We offer individual, couples, and family counseling.

If you want to schedule an appointment with a mental health or substance abuse counselor for ongoing counseling services or if you want to obtain a letter for gender-affirming surgery, complete our referral form and click “submit” at the bottom of the form (REFERRAL FORM). (Please note: There is currently a waitlist for surgery letters due to the high volume of requests. If you are still interested and want to get on the waitlist, please fill out the form).

If you have any other questions regarding the counseling services offered, please feel free to contact our Clinical Services Director Sarah Nygren (she/her) at (414) 271-2656 x 108 or email snygren@mkelgbt.org.
